The Krishi Vigyan Kendra has recently installed the Polyhouse facility for hardening of tissue culture sugarcane seedlings and for propagating the nursery seedlings and other ornamentals under the controlled environmental conditions. The polyhouse structure is essentially an open vent type half dome shaped with the basic GI pipes as frames and UV stabilised HDPE film as cover. The dimension of the installed structure is 16 X 12 sq. m. The structure is also a demonstration plot for raising other off season vegetables under the technological backdrop.
The polyhouse facility has been utilised for providing the technological support on hitech cultivation and management under the controlled conditions for the farmers specifically to give a first hand information.The facility also serves as an important instructional unit for rendering the training for farmers.
