Technology
assessment, refinement and dissemination through various group approach:
Technology assesment and refinement of various agricultural practices
for development of location specific technology is the one of the major
mandates of the KVK.Therefore KVK has taken various initiatives in this
regard. So far the KVK has assessed and refined following technologies:
1.Refinement of planting distance as well as suitable support system
for pomegranate specially for new varieties
2.Refinement in layout design of Zero Energy Cool Chamber a structure
used for storing and precooling the fresh perishables.
3.Refinement in the prunning practices for the newly introduced Drumstick
- PKM-2.
4.Fertiliser doses for the fertigation practices for Grapes and Pomegranate.
5.IPM packages for Cotton and vegetables.
6. Sugarcane Planting methods suitable for the mechanised intercultivation.

The KVK is adopting various group approaches for the assessment and
refinement of the available packages for immediate dissemination among
the farmers like :
Innovative
Farmers Club - (Prayog Pariwar) Top
Innovative Farmers Club (IFC) was established during 1996 where the
members of the clubs are innovative farmers of the district. The
main aim of this club is to assess, refine and disseminate the location
specific technology at faster rate. The concept is mainly based on
"Land to Land transfer of technology". Now 580 innovative farmers
have became the members of this club who come together on every third Saturday
of each month to exchange their ideas, innovations and other problems
related to agriculture. Many technologies have been assessed, refined
and disseminated among the farming community through this club. In
this IFC, various programmes are being conducted on the cost sharing basis.
The KVK has also initiated steps in forming the INNOVATIVE FARM WOMEN's
CLUB for assessment, refinement and dissemination of technologies at faster
rate.
Besides IFC, following groups were also formulated for dissemination
of technology at faster rate:
-
Mahila mandals
-
Youth clubs /Krishi Vigyan Mandals
-
Commodity-wise groups like pomegranate group, grape group, mushroom group,
sugarcane group, poultry group etc.
-
Second stage extension / indirect extension / distance learning through
the successful entrepreneur /innovative farmers.
Started Information Centre at KVK where Internet and other required
facilities have been installed. The connectivity of this centre will be
given to the groups of farmers from where they can easily get the information
about different agriculture technologies, market information and programmes
of KVK. This will have positive impact on faster dissemination of
agricultural technologies.
