The Soil Analysis Laboratory
of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra is one of the most acknowledged laboratories
of the Ahmednagar District providing the soil, irrigation water, plant
tissue and fertiliser analyses for recommending the test based fertiliser
packages for the crops grown by the farmers in the region. The laboratory
is unique in its efficiency that provides the analytical results soon after
the samples are brought. The average time required to provide the results
for the farmers is 4 to 5 days. The service is levied nominal charges to
compensate the chemical and other contingent expenses.

SOIL ANALYTICAL SOFTWARE
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra
has pioneered the technique to provide the analytical data and test based
fertiliser recommendation with the help of Soil Analytical Software through
the computer that it has prepared. The KVK plans to share this software
with other soil laboratories of the country as a step forward to maximise
the soil test based recommendations and economise the fertiliser use for
improving the productivity status.
